From the 27th of February until the 23rd of March 2012, the 19th Session of the HRC will be held.
The HRC is about to follow a very full agenda. Indeed, throughout the session, Member-States will discuss numerous issues. Heart’s Home will closely follow:
- The freedom of expression on the internet
- The freedom of religion and beliefs
- The annual day for the rights of the child
- Minorities’ rights
- A very contemporary and controversial debate on discrimination and violence based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
In parallel, various events will be held to promote discussion between states and NGOs and to encourage the HRC to adopt resolutions. Heart’s Home will be organising, in collaboration with other NGOs from the Working Group on Human Rights Education and Training, a panel on “Informal forms of Human Rights Education”. Our NGO will furthermore co-sign written declarations which will be submitted to the HRC.
