The 20th Session of Human Rights Council

The Human Rights Council (HRC) will hold its 20th Session from the 18th of June to 6th of July. During 3 weeks, the 47 member states of the HRC will exchange their point of view on sev­eral human rights themes, based on infor­ma­tion pro­vided by var­ious Special Rapporteurs (SR). Heart’s Home will mon­itor 3 of these debates, which are at the heart of its con­cerns:

1 / The RS on the Right to Education, Mr. Kishor Singh, will focus on the quality of edu­ca­tion. See his latest report.

2 / In the dia­logue on Extreme Poverty, the RS Ms. Magdalena Sepulveda, will review the pro­gress of the Draft Guiding Principles on Extreme Poverty, whose adop­tion is sched­uled for September.

3 / Finally, Ms. Farida Shaheed, the RS on Cultural Rights, should address the issue of the right of everyone to enjoy ben­e­fits of sci­en­tific pro­gress and its appli­ca­tions.
